Duetting is an ongoing collaborative writing project, inspired by four years of letter writing and journaling between Clare Whistler and Laura Coleman, from East Sussex to the Isle of Eigg in Scotland, and back again.

The aim of the project is to forge meaningful connections through writing: working in tandem with the environment, the weather, and with each other. Whilst so many doorsteps around the world are under threat, this project acknowledges the privilege of having a place of safety on which to stand and considers how to look onto, into and with the world, through the ever-shifting weather patterns of our times.

Laura Coleman is an artist, author and founder of ONCA. Kinship and community is at the heart of their work. Laura’s doorstep is on the Isle of Eigg in Scotland.

Clare Whistler is a collaborative artist. She makes work with performance, the landscape, poetry, music and visual art. She has had a long association with ONCA. Her doorstep is in Ashburnham, East Sussex.
